The Talking PartnerŪ Dictionaries for Pocket PC can pronounce words in English and Spanish, which is the distinguishing feature of these software translators. A specially developed Text-To-Speech (TTS) technology converts text to speech. The synthesizer (Text-to-Speech engine) is based on a new approach to speech synthesis, i.e. on formanta synthesis, which creates a human vocal tract simulation by modelling sounds of a national language.
The new dictionaries not only translate words for you but also help you improve your accent by listening to a clear, life-like pronunciation of each word. The Talking PartnerŪ Bidirectional Dictionaries for Pocket PC deliver instant word translation and reverse translation as a proof of correct understanding. The English<->Spanish dictionary comprises over 400,000 and the English<->Russian dictionary comprises 550,000 words/phrases. PartnerŪ dictionaries provide several translations for all words having more than one meaning.
