On October 6, 2009, I purchased LingvoSoft Learning Voice PhraseBook 2009 English <-> Chinese Mandarin Simplified for Windows. I promptly received an email from Kate Ashley that included a registration key file (.rkf). The instructions in the email tells me to store the .rkf file in any folder and the software will ask me for the location of the .rkf file. When I start the software, however, it simply has me select a "register" link and searches my system for the file. It never finds the file and fails to "register" the software.
After reviewing info in this form, on October 7 and 8th, I sent emails to Kate Ashley at katea@lingvosoft.com. I have received no response. I am leaving for China in a few days and would like the software to work. Otherwise, I would like a refund of my money.
I hope "Kate Ahsley" can help.

More info:
I have now tried installing the Phrasebook for SmartPhone. After installation, I carefully followed all instructions and typed the supplied registration key. Again, similar to the experience when trying to use the .rfk file in the Windows XP environment, the supplied registration key for the Smartphone version resulted in an error "The registration key you entered is not valid." I have double checked that all characters (upper case letters and numbers) were entered properly.
Based on a link provided in the readme file, I believe that the product id is: softId=PB-SMPH-ENZHMSM-T-1111
Please help!!!!

I have searched all folders in my mailbox for email relating to LingvoSoft and Ectaco without finding any email from your tech support. At this point, I am giving up and plan to dispute the credit card charge for failure by LingvoSoft and Ectaco to deliver the purchased licenses. I am disappointed.

Dear Kate,
Even though your website says no refunds, if the service provided is not given such as software keys not working, then the service is not provided and any company and/or persons can demand a refund, and WILL get it.
If it is a case of wrong software ordered and the consumers fault, then so be it.
If the customer trials a software and it is ok, then pays for it and the registration code does not work and the software is not fully functional, and there is no information about certain operating systems having problem with registration, then the company has to refund.
If you did disclose this in your product information then people wouldn't have purchased the software, and would have been aware before paying.
I hope you can help me with my registration problem on windows mobile 6.1 or I will visit my bank in the morning at opening to get the transaction cancelled. I can do this with my credit card.

Hello,
Sorry, current software registration system does not support WM 6.1 View system requirements on the web site. WM 6.1 is not indicated as supported OS version.
Unfortunately the update for 6.1 won't be available. This soft is working on WM.6.5 (English)
We do not make a refund since the registation key for purchased software has been already provided.

I simple don't understand i did the same thing and now when i paid for software i cant use it.
I haw feeling like i am scammed.
How something that work as trail version on Windows mobile 6.1 cant be unlocked, and if you knew the problem with WM 6.1 why didn't you make costumers aware about it before they make purchases, for me this is so unprofessional from LingvoSoft.
I don't think i will buy anything ewer from LingvoSoft anymore, neither i will recommended it to anyone ( but i think Lingvosoft don't care as long as they can make money in this way )

It is clearly indicated in system requirements on the web site what OS versions are supported. WM 6.1 is not included.
Please send me your order number at katea@lingvosoft.com and we'll provide you with the prior version that can be registered on 6.1

I also had this registration problem before but now everything is okay. Thanks a lot for solving the problem. I'll regularly visit this site for more updates.
