Ok i understand so your device never enters the firmware update screen.
I just tried it on mine. Please see the instructions here https://www.ectaco.com/ectaco-posts/list/19980.page
Number 5. Says after you press the "Reset button" the device will turn off. This was NOT the case for mine. It actually restarted. What i did (might work for you) is the following.
1) Do steps 1-4.
2) Press RESET.
3) IMMEDIATELY after press the on/off and right arrow simultaneously. Hold for at least 8 seconds. Try to go from reset to holding the on/of & right arrow as quickly as possible. Have someone help if necessary.
Please let me know if this works. I know i had to try mine 2 or 3 times to get to the firmware update screen.
After a lot of pain, I finally got it to reload the firmware. Only took about a dozen tries...I won't be doing that again until the existing bugs in 15g are squashed. I reloaded 15d. At least its stable.[/q

Download jetBook Lite version .15g here NOTE - 2 BUGS: Books do not hold place or font size.
Huh? So,are you saying that even if this update does work,it will have these two problems? Why would anyone want to update it then? I don't understand.

Hey elf,
You'll find a link elsewhere in the forums for the beta JBL v0.16 firmware that has resolved this issue. While it's officially in "install at your own risk" status, I know a couple of us have installed it and find it more stable than v0.15g. I don't know what other issues it resolves from v0.15d-b, but at least I haven't found any bugs like those in 15g.

Of course, none of this is relevant if your device will not open this mythical 'Update Screen' in the first place...Now I have to pay the postage to USA...'12 month international warranty'?

Hey,
Yea it is unfortunate but it appears their is a different problem with the device as yours will not go into the update screen.
As i mentioned it is policy they international customers must pay both ways for replacements however in this case we can ship it back to your location for free.
I know we tried a bunch but make sure you are pressing the right arrow and the on/off simultaneously to get into the firmware update screen.
Hope this helps!

Yep,thanks again Jerry, you've been good. Actually,I tried about 10 other combinations of buttons too...it always just opens the jetBook logo screen and gets stuck there. You can see that it does try to open some other screen...there is a little quick flash across the screen (and ONE tim
