Hi,

currently the JBL works fine with Alcaline batteries warning you before the batteries went empty.

If the JBL uses NiMH batteries I get no warning before the batteries are empty, for example JBL's battery bar shows normally about 50% of charge and suddenly stops working, no warning at all.

Is it possible to add some battery profiles for different kind of batteries used (NiCad, Alcaline, NiMH, ...) to the configuration menu of the JBL in a way so that the end user can select the right battery and the devices knows wich levels to use to show on the battery bar and the right warnings levels to prompt to the user.

Thanks in advance.

I'm sorry, it a shame that the JBL has been "retired"...

IMHO, the main advantage of the JBL and the Mini is the use of standard batteries, most ebook readers on the market use proprietary not easily available and/or replaceable batteries, for the long run the JBL and the Mini have an advantage over them...

You want to use NiMH batteries in the JBL and you should be seeing the low battery warning
message at the halfway point, or soon afterward. Since this is with from 25 to 30 hours of
reading time, you are not actually loosing any battery time. As you mention, it is just a mater
of the calibration for the power/battery level indicator.

The process of removing the spent batteries and placing them in the charger and installing
a recharged set into the JBL is soon a simple habitual action.

Luck;
Ken
