Here is the problem...not all people are electronic savy. My mom can barely use a TV remote.

Still she loves to read, and I've lent her my Jetbook Mini many times. I put a book on there and she is happy. I used to put a bunch on there, but that caused mass confusion, so now I install only a single book when I lend it to her.

Even at that, she calls me because she has flipped the screen around or done something else and can't figure out how to make it work again. Arrrghhh!

I would love to see the software developers for this thing do either one of two things.

1. Make it so the options screen cannot come up unless a passnumber is entered, like when you select a page...or even better yet, you hold down two keys simultaneously such as the bottom and top big buttons, and/or, the ability to lock out options or commands.

2. Take the existing flash and simplify it for old people. For instance, from the main screen, have the big and little buttons scroll up and down for book selection, and the center button to select the book. From the book screen have the big and little buttons page forward and backward, and have the middle button return to the main screen. Nothing more. For settings...let the owner select what they want from a desktop installer before flashing the device. My mom only needs UTF-8 and font size 30. Nothing more.

I mean it really needs to be really simple for old folks...and maybe some little kids too could benefit.

Anyone have the source code for the rom flash for the Jetbook Mini? It couldn't be that hard to dummy it down...

Hey,

Thanks for the feedback, i will make sure i pass everything to our developers for consideration. We make modifications based on the popularity of certain feedback given.

What would be interesting though, to see a jetBook mini where all you could do is press a button to turn the page, almost like a regular print book.
