Hello,

We received 2 weeks ago a new jetbook color...

After some tests, it seems that there is a little problem on it...

The device seems to have the same luminosity beetween the two state.. power off and on !

The color is not present so... it seems to have a grey scale

Any idea ?

Hey,

Thanks for the message, i don't understand what you mean about power on and off. There is no back-light on the device.

The device uses a color eInk screen, you can just download a picture on the device in black and white to compare it to a color version.

Hope this helps!

You may be expecting more then the technology can provide.

While the JBC appears to provide enough color for many purposes, it is not backlit and cannot be
expected to provide the color saturation of a backlit device. (It takes a lot of power and light to
provide a display with bright colors, without that amount of light the display is very dark and
"muddy".)

From what I've seen reported/posted the colors are at least to the level of "comics" and very
functional for color graphs and charts/maps.

There are trade-offs for most devices, if you want the longer running time and less eye strain of
the e-Ink display and color - then the JBC is what is available. If you want/need a backlit tablet
there are plenty of those available.

Luck;
Ken

Hey, i have your email? If you don't want to post it you can send me a PM. I can give it directly.

Also, make sure to check your junk mail or spam mail folders to make sure it didn't go there.

You might also keep in mind that the reflective display means that you will see a better color
display when in well lit situations, like outside in the sun or when the light source is reflected
at the proper angle.
