I updated my JBC with the latest firmware last weekend, and am happy to say it resolved a couple of my complaints, but it added a new one. Suddenly, my "Recently Read" menu no longer takes note of anything I'm reading. I've read a couple of books in the past couple of days, and there's still nothing in that category.

I'd still like to see an option that would allow me to go directly to the last book I was reading when the JBC shut down. Particularly now that my JBC no longer remembers my reading order, it takes a long time to find the book I'm currently reading, especially if either the title or author are near the end of the alphabet.

Just one more thing to worry about...

Hey,

Sorry to hear of the issue, are the books on your HD or a flash drive?

Mine still works OK with this. Maybe try a reset or re-download of the firmware?

Well, I do have the same problem. Almost all books are on a 32 Gbyte microSD card.

New development. Finally had time to try your suggestions, basically the same results. However, now it occasionally will remember the book I'm reading, not always but sometimes. Also, it will NOT keep my orientation settings. I like to read before going to sleep at night, and my wife will lay with her head on my shoulder. This leaves me with only one hand to hold and control the jetbook, so I usually put it into "Left Orientation" mode from the main menu. The minute I either turn the book off, or if it powers down after the timeout, the orientations disappear (does the same thing in "right orientation". And this happens EVERY time. Another REALLY annoying fail!!
