Hey,

Thanks for the question! When using the U-Learn function you should not need to press the microphone button. This function can be used hands and eyes free.

If the speaker makes an odd noise just for one function it may be that you need to sync the hardware in the device. Please do the following:

1) Remove the SD card from the device
2) Make sure the slider on the card is in the unlocked position (toward the metal connectors).
3) Put the SD card back in
4) Press the reset button (small hole on the back of the device).

If you are still experiencing difficulty please contact our technical support directly. The number is 718-728-3605 or email Phil@ectaco.com.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the U learn info, a pity that my previous enquiries did not reveal that the button does not have to be pressed. You should advise Val, Paul, and Pavel, who have all attempted to resolve this.
I cannot solve the other clicking problem on speaker in dictionary, but can get by it by using touch screen method for pronunciation. Many thanks

Hey,

You are very welcome! If you describe the clicking noise in detail maybe i can help out further with that.
1) What do you press when it clicks (exact button on the keypad or screen)?
2) Does it happen for other functions?
3) Does shutting off the volume solve this?
4) Any other specifics.

Hope this helps!

1) I press the speaker button when in the Eng- Sp dictionary to listen to pronunciation of highlighted word.
2) The same button works fine in text translation application, no clicking at all.
3) Shutting off volume just takes away all pronunciation ability.
4) Clicking continues until button released and drowns out initial part of pronunciation. I have said that pop up menu is an alternative but thanks for helping.

Hi,

No problem at all. Yes seems like an unusual situation with the clicking noise if it becomes a bother and you would like to get the device replaced please let us know and we can help you with everything.

Thanks for the feedback with everything!

The big problem with a replacement device is that your company has a very non customer friendly policy on delivery charges, which I only discovered after experiencing problems. It is preposterous to attempt to ask people to pay their own delivery on faulty items.
