I just looked at the JBL 0.15g update. It comes as a Windows executable, but it turns out to just be a 7-zip self-extractor.

Inside I see that the JBL appears to be running Linux.

So why aren't the firmware upgrades also distributed in a more Linux-friendly fashion? Using tar and gzip would be fine, or you could even just use a .zip archive for everyone if you don't want to have multiple files available for download.

The same thing goes for the Mac. A tarball or a .zip archive will be easier for most people than a Windows executable.

Hey,

I'm not sure, the formats seems to be all over the place. Like the current JB download 0.35d is a .zip.

That would be a good idea to make it more friendly for everyone though.
