Anyone tell me when they new firmware is supposed to come out that fixes the jetbook lite hanging on the logo screen after a lockup and reset?

I am REALLY hoping it truly fixes this once and for all since I am on hold with my second lock up/ hanging session.

The new version has been released, but it is still being tested.

It will be available to download in April.

Also my JetBook Lite locked up

Can you confirm that the new firmware will make my JBL work again without a unit replacement?

Well via email I was told the new firmware would fix the lock-up problem without returning the unit AGAIN. This is 2nd time for me. But they have changed when the firmware will be available 2 times now. And they still haven't managed to tell me HOW I am supposed to load the new firmware when it's finally really available since its impossible to reload the current firmware using directions posted in this forum. I really like the jetbook lite on those rare occasions when it actually works for me. But every time the story gets changed and every time they fail to answer my questions I lose a little more faith in the company. I suspect more and more that they HOPED the new firmware would fix the lockup problem but it didn't and they are frantically tweaking the firmware trying to change it so it WILL fix the problem. This is a guess on my part but it fits the situation. If they don't want people guessing they should answer questions.

So any progress at all on firmware update is is supposed to fix the lock-up problem followed by hanging on logo screen that I have already returned my jbl for replacement once for? My jbl is not doing a whole lot of good sitting on my desk totally unusable...Its been about 2 weeks now since my second lockup.

Updates are being tested. They are not usable yet, but ECTACO will release a good version shortly.

Why should I ask everything multiple times to have a clear answer?

You are saying the new firmware will not lock up the jetbook. Ok. But are you saying also it will recover a locked up one? How?

Very bad. The new firmware cannot be loaded on a locked up jetBook. I'm starting to doubt if the the new firmware really fixes this issue. Now I imagine I should request an RMA. Very bad.
Do you know if the normal jetBook (not Lite) suffers the same problem?

OK, I downloaded and unzipped the 15d firmware upgrade, and it looks clear as mud, there are about 20 files in there including 5 zipped files, what am I supposed to do with these? The regular 15 firmware upgrade only had 3 files/folders if I remember correctly. 15d is a confusing mess: 15 bin files, 7 regular files, then the 5 zip files--what are we to do with this mess? There are no clear instructions as to what we are to do with all these files that I know of.

Never mind. I downloaded the files to a different computer and the three folders showed up like they should.
As for the update, the 'find' feature on the pdb purchased books works now. and it saved my last page read in the pdb books after the update, but not in my mobi/prc files. Hopefully the update makes the jbl more stable.

Hmmm not usable? So why pray tell did tech support send me a link to the 15d firmware?

Does this promised good version load onto a locked up jetbook lite as you promised about 3 weeks ago? If so how? Can't load 14n, 15 or 15d (current) using directions posted in forum. Can't access reader via usb cable, windows says its an invalid usb device.

Still waiting for a real answer from tech support.

Still waiting.

If you don't have a clue and lied before then just say so.

If You really have a method to load the new firmware on a jetbook lite that has locked up and hangs on logo screen when reset then PLEASE tell me how to do it.

The longer you don't answer, the more obvious it is you lied to me before.

This is NOT the way to make your customers trust you and give you good word of mouth advertising you know.

The new firmware will fix the problem with lockup.

Please, try to load new firmware 0.15d. I think it should work.

I already tried that version. It wont load. Most likely because the problem I have, as I have been telling you for better than 3 weeks, causes the jetbook lite to hang on the logo screen. This means the device never gets to the point of loading the firmware. I can hold the right arrow key down until the batteries die and it STILL doesn't load the firmware.

Now is there an alternate way to get the new firmware onto my device? I mean other than shipping my reader back to you a 2nd time for this same problem? You told me 3 weeks ago that the new firmware would fix the problem AND I wouldn't have to ship it back again.

IS this the case? The reason I am asking in forum is because you refuse to answer the question when I write email.
