Dear Customer

Russian, spanish, german, polish dictionaries are not useless and will never be removed.
Moreover, we are planning to add even more dictionaries.

Ectaco INC,

You can add as many dictionaries as you like but if they are all as bad as the English dictionary all you'll end up doing is decreasing customer satisfaction.

If a dictionary is important to a friend deciding what ereader to buy I would point them to every other reader with a dictionary before suggesting this one.

The English dictionary is an embarrassment.

Go to Gutenberg and download the 17,000 page Webster's dictionary as text.
Break it up into 500 page files, each named for the first word in the file. Put the 34 files in a separate folder named dictionary. Even though this dictionary is dated 1913, it is SO comprehensive that it is worth the effort. Besides, it contains words dropped from the language that show up all the time in books from the turn of the 20th century.

You cannot use the lookup function, but I open the correct dictionary file and do a search for the word I want with instantaneous results, then go back to page 1 before closing it. I then use the recent readings function to get back to the book I was reading. With a little practice, it's quicker than you think.
