Since you are using GPL applications in the JetBook devices (and probably you created also custom patches), you should give us the opportunity to download the source code, like your competitors do (e.g. http://www.bookeen.com/support/ebook-gpl.aspx) .

How can I get it?

It's not your choice, you *have* to provide the source code. You are using GPL software in JetBook and so you have to follow the GPL license. There are no exceptions.

This seems to have been let die but if you are using Linux you do have to provide the source code by law. You need to post a link where it can be downloaded.

As a matter of interest, how do you all know what software is used in the Jetbook?

Or you can decrypt the firmware and find it yourself.

OK, have it your way. You are only hurting yourself. Every Linux based device on the market that has released the code has ended up with new apps written by users which only increase the value.

Hello,

I found this forum while looking for an answer to the same question.

I don't think you realize the gravity of this situation. You (that is, Ectaco) are currently engaged in blatant copyright violation (i.e. piracy) by distributing third-party software (Linux kernel, in particular) without satisfying, as per the GPL, the conditions under which it was provided to you.

Moreover, you continue to do so even after being alerted to the fact. Should the copyright holders of the software in the question (which isn't even clearly identified) take this matter all the way to the court, the consequences will be severe.

The requirements for the GNU GPL compliance are quite simple. Please take action before it is too late.

It looks like I can't post in anything other than English here, but just as a sidenote, I'll be glad to give a quick summary in Russian, if needed, as well.

I believe this issue affects Aluratek, as well, as I've not been able to find as much as a mention of the GPL on or inside the box.
