Hi All,

The Speechguard TLX is our brand new voice translator, travel phone and so much more. Here are just some of the questions we get about the device and the answers which will help you.

Q) How does the free phone work?
A) The device includes a SIM card, all you have to do is put the SIM card in the phone (under the battery cover). You will get free incoming calls in over 160 countries and free incoming SMS messages. There is NO contract required.

Q) How does it translate?

A) In the translate program you can press a button, say anything you want (in about 30 languages) and it will translate. The translation will come up in text and be spoken out loud. For the most part it will work in both directions. Some languages are different so make sure to ask your salesperson about your specific language.

Q) What is the difference between this and the Partner LUX?

A) Here are the things the TLX has that the Partner LUX does not: Cell service, a real 2-way radio, a louder speaker, a higher resolution camera, Waterproof, shock proof, SOS button, integrated lazer, integrated flashlight, a much longer battery (5 days) and more. The Partner LUX is great for in-home use and someone who needs a physical keyboard.

Q) Do i have to pay anything to receive the calls?
A) No. Incoming calls are free and without contract.

Q) Can I translate while talking on the phone?

A) The device does allow two actions at once. While you are speaking to someone on the phone you can enter and use another application like the voice translator or picture translator.
