The ONYX BOOX Edison is a device for reading electronic books with an enlarged screen and an impressive set of technical specifications. The E Reader has a 7.8” E Ink Carta Plus display with a lighting system and touch control. Thanks to this enlarged screen, this model allows you to combine reading fiction and technical literature. Its high-performance 8-core processor together with 3 GB of RAM ensure a convenient speed of the device even with the most complex documents. A built-in Wi-Fi module allows you to use various network services, and Bluetooth allows you to connect external devices. The model is based on the Android 10 operating system, which allows you to install and use various third-party apps and significantly expands the functions of the device. The E Reader is produced in a thin compact case, and its screen is covered with Asahi protective glass. The device comes with a smart magnetic cover with convenient scrolling side buttons.

Screen frontlight system

The MOON Light 2 technology enables one to use the device in the dark or under poor lighting conditions. When this function is in use, soft luminescence of the screen comfortable for reading in dark rooms is being generated. It also has a color temperature control and, thanks to the use of Flicker-Free technology, the front-light system is perfectly smooth.

The ONYX BOOX Edison screen, increased up to 7.8 inches, displays 68% more information than similar 6" screens. At the same time, the device is compact enough for comfortable use during trips and travel.

Case cover with SIDE Control technology

The device comes with a smart cover which provides effective protection of the screen. On its side there are comfortable scrolling buttons and, when closed, it automatically turns the device into a sleep mode.

Additional screen protection

Protective glass from the famous Japanese manufacturer ASAHI is located atop the E Ink screen and protects it from scratches and other damage. This new glass allows to avoid additional frames, so the screen is flush with the body of the device. This makes the e-book more comfortable and it looks more modern. In addition a special coating reduces the glare of the screen.

Outstanding technical specifications

The 8-core processor with 1.8 GHz clock rate and 3 GB of RAM ensures comfortable work with any, even the most difficult documents. And 32 GB of nonvolatile memory allows the user to store a considerable library.

The Edison model is based on the Android 10 operating system and allows you to install and use various third-party apps, which significantly expand the possibilities of using the device.

The device has an audio player which allows you to listen to music or audio books. For this purpose, connect earphones or external speakers to the device and run a corresponding file. You can also listen to audio files via embedded speakers.

The device supports OTG, which allows you to connect additional peripherals that do not require the installation of additional drivers.

Thanks to a built-in Bluetooth module of the 5.0 standard you can connect external devices.

Format support The BOOX software allows the user to open files of various text and graphic formats. When reading you can change font style and size, disposition of pages, insert bookmarks, add your own fonts and zoom documents at your will.

User-friendly library

The library sorts ebooks by author, title and series. Convenient search and filters allow you to find quickly any needed book by genre, language, date of publication etc. In addition, standard folders, created on PCs, are supported.

User-friendly ebook writing into the memory

In addition to the standard way of copying ebooks with the help of a USB cable, you can transfer them via Bluetooth or a Wi-Fi channel when connected to the Internet. Also a new cloud PUSH service "Send2boox" is available.
