after returning from holiday, i used my JBC yesterday for a few minutes to read a pdf. I turned the time until the JBC canceled the session to 10 minutes and now it is not possible to start, restart or use the reset button.
On the display, there still remain the last page I read ( not the standard screensaver ) even if the 10 minutes are over ( still the time is on the page: 12:52 on 14.08.2012.
Until now I tried:

1; Try to start /nothing happened
2; Try to reset / nothing happened
3; Charge and try point 1 and 2 again / nothing happened
4; use the connection to the Laptop to find the harddisk / nothing happended

ps: the blue light ( working ) is sometimes on, and if I charge it, the orange light is on !

pps: and because it is a logistic desaster to send the JBC from Europe (Germany), I am not realy amused to try this !

ppps: SW Version is 49 and the newest russion firmware

pppps: the only thing for me to try, is to wait until the battery is totally empty, but I can´t see when it happens

Hi Johann,

Thanks for the message. THe only time i have seen this is if someone tried to update the device with an older firmware, it is very unusual. Try the following.
1) Make sure their is no micro SD card in the device.
2) When you reset. Make sure you are holding down the reset button for at least 10 seconds.
3) The power switch on the bottom, use the same advise above. Slide it to the right (on/off) and hold there for at least 10 seconds.

now I am waiting until power is emty and then reload and start the book again !
Should I do something before reloading the accu ?

Hi,

Ok, i think your best bet then would be to wait till the power is completely drained and then try to plug it into the power source and reset.

The best email for support is support@ectaco.com i would not use any others.

WARNING: You can attempt to remove the battery however doing so may void the warranty. I am in no way suggesting that you do that. However, if you feel it necessary you can remove the back cover on top which will reveal 2 screws. These two screws will allow you to remove the entire back plate.

as long as got warranty, there is no reason to open the device !
400 Euro is to much, to do silly things !
So I will wait, and if it is not working, I´ll try the support !
