JBL: Have an option to use side keys to browse through books at percentage points.
Say,
"0" = 0% into the book(page 1)
"1" = 10% into the book
...
"9" = 90% into the book

This will be extremely helpful for browsing large plain text books. Easier than entering the page number. In 500 page book simply hit "5" to check out the page 250 in the middle of the book.

JetBook Lite : (because thats what I have)

How about a universal naming convention across all files.

I'm referring to the ability to name TXT files as "Author#BookName.txt" and have the information properly formatted on-screen. It would be nice to be able to name any ebook file (TXT, HTML, EPUB, PDF, etc.) this way and have the information show correctly on-screen.

I would even go a step further and suggest extra "fields" in the name:
Genre_Author#Series!Number~BookName.EXT
And have these fields sortable from the menu. If we assume "#" is the Author identifier and have other such identifiers optional, like series and number for stand-alone novels.

jetBook

I just upgraded to 35m tonight from 33g, so I can't be sure when these issues began, but here's what I have noticed.

No dictionary anymore. I have all epub files and I had a dictionary till the upgrade tonight. It wasn't a very good dictionary, but it was there.

I now have to set the font size for each book I open. Wasn't there a system wide adjustment before? I can also confirm the previous posters bug in the book title font size adjustment.

The led blinks more. Still at page turns, which I got used to, but now sometimes twice at page turns and sometimes every couple seconds for seemingly no reason.

There is now a teeny tiny page number that scrolls in the right margin, often overlapping the text. It seems to be part of the jetBook firmware as it corresponds to the page number at the top. Font size changes don't affect it.

Honestly, as a somewhat early adopter and promoter of the jetBook (selling my Kindle to purchase it), I am disappointed.

Then you go into a book. Then you exit the book and the font of the books listed is back to default.

My jetBook does not do this, is anyone else seeing this behavior?
jetBook

I just upgraded to 35m tonight from 33g, so I can't be sure when these issues began, but here's what I have noticed.

No dictionary anymore. Were they converted ever?
- For the tiny page # on the right: Is it only for one format of book? Which formats? where were the books from?

For the book size do you mean the same thing as above? Or is it that you open a book, sent the font size. Exit. Then go back into the book later and the font size in the book is changed?

Please let me know so i can help out. Thanks!

AudioBooks TOC to be revised

JetBook:
----------
1. I would advise to completely revise the AudioBooks TOC. I suggest to remove the list of ALL .MP3 files found in memory (FLASH and SD). Most of AudioBooks are provided in the folders with the files numbered as 01.mp3.. 99.mp3 and when you put several such AudioBooks onto the SD, then all .MP3 files found are shown in one list. Instead, replace TOC with the File/Folder browser as this is done for E-books and it is fine.

2. AudioBooks play control: Pressing 'return' knob when the .MP3 file is played, takes you to the JetBook ROOT menu instead of the AudioBooks list. This makes me disappointed.

Pavel

Without a doubt, for me, the biggest issue is the quality of the English dictionary. I estimate that approx. 60-70% of the words I look up aren't found, which is very frustrating.

I would hesitate to recommend this unit to a friend for this very reason.

A serif font would also be nice, especially when reading older texts. I have forwarded the link with everything to the product manager, making changes is in their hands.

I was having a discussion with one of them previously and the main factor in making changes is the ease of doing so and the audience it will appeal to. In other words some suggestions might actually require all but a complete re-design of the firmware where as others would be a less complicated fix or addition.

We are really trying to match our feedback with our R&D (research and development) team to see if something interesting sticks out. if it does and seems to be in high demand we will make a change and release it on the JB and JBL.

Hopefully the management team is as passionate as i am about actually implementing some of these cha

Hi Jerry,

My comments are about the jetBook Lite.

1) Better English dictionary. I estimate I found only 10% of the words I looked up when reading the books that came with the device.

2) I love the new firmware v16e with the pdf reflow, but I find that zoom at 200% is too big with too large spacing, and 150% is too small. So a way to get it between those two figures would be good.

3) Too few letters of the title of each book appear when I go to main listings.

Thanks!

The jetBook + will be for the general public and will be the new version of the jetBook JB-5. Not sure on the price but if i had to guess i would say anywhere between $139 - $169. The jetBook K-12 will the the school version. I would sure hope they make it available to the public or they can miss out on allot of opportunities. I think for one unit it would be around $399.95. Also for classroom sets (25 pcs or more) the price should drop significantly to about $249.95.

We will be offering discounts for small orders placed through schools. The customer would have to prove credentials. If you know someone who knows someone whose aunts friends sister works in a school we cant really give a discount
