There is a link to ck12.org in your product description of the Color jetBook and it
appears that they are working with Wolfram to provide free etextbooks that make
use of the interactive "Computable Document Format". The question becomes are
such "interactive" ebooks functional on the new Color jetBook?

Hi Ken,

I browsed around a bit, it seems books on the CK12 website can be downloaded in PDF format. I'm not sure what sort of extended functionality can be supported. It should have the option to click links to go to supporting websites and also some animations should be supported (like GIF's).

The ck12.org site has an example Algebra text with the cdf features enabled,
I can get them to play properly using the Wolfram CDF Player on my PC.
You can get an idea of how it would look on the Color jetBook by running the
demo on the site. Wolfram seems interested in spreading their format and
seem to be offering it for free to developers. It is such a natural fit with your
Educational eReader, I sure hope it can be adopted.

For those techy types this is some of the related open source spec for the
basic underlying capability:

Hi Ken,

I see what you are saying, their seem to be more features if reading the book with the Wolfram CDF player (rather then using Adobe to view the PDF). Its interesting, i wonder if that program is something they can retrofit into the jetBook Color. I will send a message about this to see if it is something our product manager would want to look further into. I feel it would make the experience more interactive.
