System Error 7 iTRAVL NTC-9C  XML

[b]Hello, I've got a iTRAVL NTC-9C. It was working OK when I bought it. I've had it about 10 months.
Now when I turn it on, a window comes up saying "SYSTEM ERROR 7. REPLACE MEMORY CARD"
I click on the OK button in the window & another message says "SYSTEM ERROR 6. REPLACE MEMORY CARD"
I click on the OK button in the window & another window opens up & says
"FATAL APPLICATION ERROR" Application Launcher.exe has performed a illegal operation.
Program: Launcher.exe
Exception: 0xC0000005
Address: 00030130

That's as far as it will go. I've reset it but it makes no difference.
Also is the memory card the language card that goes into the side of the device.
Any advice would be helpful.

Hey Paul,

Thanks for the message!

We can try a master reset on the unit.

1) Remove the battery from the unit.
2) Remove the SD card from the unit.
3) Wait at least 15 minutes.
4) Check the SD card, their is a small slider on the side. Make sure the slider is towards the metal connectors in the "unlock" position.
5) Replace the SD card.
6) Replace the battery.
7) Hit the reset button on the back of the unit with a paper clip.

If it still does not work the software on the SD card may be corrupt. Please contact support@ectaco.com and they should provide you with a new software download.

I am just about to order one of these. Is this a common issue or a one off? I ask since the unit was only 10 months old so it couldn't be due to ware and tear.

Hey,

Thanks for the message. Defects occur in less then 1% of all units we sell. This was not a defect just that the SD card didn't sync with the device. An easy fix provided my the instructions i provided.

However, I highly recommend the 900 series model. They are a bit newer and have the same EXACT features, plus more. i use a partner 900, my favorite is the 8E900. It has 8 languages and tons of features https://www.ectaco.com/ectaco-partner-8w900/
