I have recently purchased an Ectaco Partner PW800. Unfotunately, I have spent most of the Christmas period trying to install languages from the cd onto the device, but to no avail.

I can't find anything in the instructions or on the website to explain how to install languages.

Can somebody please explain how to do this?

Dear Julia,

Actually, this CD contains software for Windows, Pocket PC and Palm OS.
It does not contain any dictionaries for the PW800.

Hello Alex,

Thanks for replying to my post on the forum regarding the Ectaco Partner E15T800 (PW800).

If the languages aren’t included on the cd and they are not on the memory card or already loaded onto the device, I take it that I cannot use the device for its intended purpose?

This description heavily suggests that the device includes all the languages listed, hence the languages cd that I received with the device. This suggestion also reinforced by the memory card reader I received with the device, which I assumed was to be used in conjunction with the cd to transfer languages onto the device.

I might be wrong, but it now seems that I have been badly misled. Can you tell me how I am supposed to use the device?

Dear Julia,

We are talking about two different cases.

The E15T800 is a multilingual dictionary. It includes all software dictionaries for all these languages on MMC card.
A Bonus CD with software for Windows, Pocket PC and Palm OS comes with the E15T800.

Please contact support@ectaco.com in case you have difficulties with switching languages in E15T800.

You've asked me to contact you before and I didn't receive a reply to any of my emails.

You know what my problem is - there are no other languages on the device (except for Thai). I cannot switch between languages because there aren't anymore languages.

Could you please just tell me what I need to do? Otherwise I will have no other option but to claim my money back.

I'm going to also send this post to you by email but will leave it on here just in case you don't reply to me again.

You need to use the Flag icon to change the pairs of languages when you are in the "Dictionaries" section or switch on the unit after reset.

Our support team already sent you the mail with screenshot how to perform that.

I've tried using the flag icon to change the pairs of languages but there is only English-Thai dictionary. No other dictionaries exist on the device. I have also tried resetting the device but this doesn't work either. I'd already tried all this plus many other things a couple of weeks ago.

Also, no-body has sent me any email with the screenshot of how to perform this so I don't know what has happened there.

Do you have any other suggestions?

Yes, I received your email with the screenshot.

There is definitely no 'flag' icon on the screen of the device.
