My boss has been talking for about a year about starting using eBook readers with a group at our school. This would allow us to give them notes, and have them carry around their textbooks for all their classes easily.

I have shown him the info on the K-12, and he is interested, but wants to know if there are some good books either pre-loaded, or relatively cheap for New York State Regents Biology, Chemistry and Physics and Advanced Placement Biology and Chemistry. Anatomy and Organic Chemistry would be useful as well...

Anyone know what will be on the K-12 for the High School level, or know of some good, but not too expensive textbooks that we can put on there?

Hi,

Thanks for the question. I have limited info on the unit in terms of page length for these items.

The K-12 should have the following already installed on it:
-Biology reference guide
-Physics reference books (Which also includes commonly used formulas and equations).
-Inorganic Chemistry reference Guide
-General Chemistry reference Guide.
-Organic Chemistry reference guide (over 200 pages).
-Fully interactive Periodic tables.

Most of the items are high school level and will even be useful at the AP level for advanced students.

As far as book content goes, we don't usually like to advocate for one site because so many places have great content. I did a few searches and found more then one eBook on your topic for $40 and under.
-Regents biology reference books.
-Practice exams
-Regents tips
-Advanced biology and others.

What school district in NY are you located? It might be possible to do a demonstration with the new K-12 when it is released in about a month or so. Also i would be glad to provide you with more information personally. You can PM me or email me at jerry@ectaco.com

Hey,

Yes our vision for these is durability, we are trying to make something that will stand the test of time in a classroom environment. Ever know anyone that dropped a laptop or iPad from just a few feet? How did it turn out?
