ready to buy jetbook lite

i am ready to order jetbook lite because of the removable battery. i am planning on using my rechargable also.

is it good for pdf & txt i would think like words doc. i am not planning on buying any ebook. just what free ebook i download off the internet.

any advice, i mean good buy or should i wait..

hi i was wondering if the warranty is covered if i ordered from Newegg.com?

i read a review saying you will not honor the warranty if it was not purchased from your website.

It's illegal for them to not honor the warranty if purchased from another source - as long as it's an authorized reseller. They might try to use that as a loophole although NewEgg has been selling the products for quite some time now to not be an authorized reseller.

A lot of people bought the JetBook Lite from Fictionwise when they first sold them with an additional book credit. Ectaco seems to have honored warranties from that source. At least, there have been some posts from Fictionwise purchasers here that have gotten a response.

I don't know what they are obliged to do, but they seem to be quite good about honoring the warranties.

I was about to click buy on newegg but decided to see if there was any more review & the latest review
the customer complaint that ectaco dont honor warranty other than their site so i got scared
& decided not to buy & started to look for other brand.

i dont know if s/he actually try to contact ectaco or not.

i found another brand also by ectaco now (not the JB) & now split on which to buy.

The JetBook Lite really IS Ectaco's best offering. Except for a few interface niggles, it's very good. Personally, with the much faster screen, multiformat support, and ability to organize books in a directory structure, this device IMO really blows the rest of the field away (including Kindle and nook).

If you are concerned about the warranty, call NewEgg or Ectaco to confirm if they are an authorized reseller. They probably are so go with the cheapest price.

Another option is Ectaco's name your own price on the sale page popup (pops up when you try to leave the JBL sale page). Don't know how low they'll go but might be worth looking at.

My question how many times I can expect to have to return the jbl for replacement. I already had to do this one time and now have EXACTLY the same symptoms again. This in the space of 3 months.

I already contacted your tech support. They claim the new firmware that either is out today or in a week according to which message I believe, will fix it. Problem being I already paid to ship it back one time for this problem and now its happened again. Considering its impossible to reload the current firmware with the hanging on login screen problem I have, using the instructions posted on the forum, I don't see how I load the NEW firmware either.
