Dear Sir / Madam,

The battery normally holds the charge for 3-4 days as the cell phones' accumulators do.
Please note that you will need to charge the iTRAVL for about 6-8 hours before using it for the first time. When you do that, you will have to use the unit until the battery is fully discharged. After that, you you will need 1,5-2 hours to charge the device. It is recommended not to use the device while you charge it.
The battery will then hold the charge for 4-5 hours of uninterrupted use.
You may also get a spare battery that can easily be replaced when needed. You may find an Extra Battery for iTRAVL online at

That is a good sign! Battery life is very important especially in emergency cases.

I have been disappointed with the battery provided. Thus far I have experienced an average life of only 3 hours. I have had the battery fully discharge with no use at all ... just sitting on the table. I am told that if the devise is fully dischaged or has to be reset that any custom information added is lost ... any plans to use the task for reservation numbers etc is not really a useful tool if it can not be backed up and restored.

I am quite concerned about losing power just at the time I really need it.

I am quite disappointed in your warrantee performance. Although my battery comment indicated I should contact support, there is apparently no way to expedite replacement of units which do not function as they should. AS I am leaving before a unit could be sent and received .... to say nothing of what language acquisition would also be lost ... I am forced to go with a unit which is not holding a charge properly and is unreliable.

Hey,

I'm sorry about the difficulty. We can offer you a warranty replacement of the product and even ship it via standard shipping at no extra charge. As per our policies we must receive any defective items back first before sending out a replacement. We could even upgrade you to expedited 3 day shipping at no charge. If you wanted FedEx 2 day or Overnight there would be a charge.

You also have the option of purchasing a new item and sending the defective back for credit. In order to do that you would have to contact customer sup

Under normal usage they last supposingly 4 days, but if you notice a very fast depletion of battery charge, then something is wrong, as your battery might be bad. You should contact support immediately and see about having it checked out.

Hi,

I purchased my iTRAVL NTL-2Ch about 2 weeks ago and there seems to be a problem with the battery. I have charged it fully as the the instructions, used the device to flatten the battery and then re-charged it again as per the instructions. It appears that the battery has somehow developed a "memory" and now only lasts for about 5 minutes, before it shuts down and then re-boots. On most occasions when it re-boots the battery indicator shows it to be flat.

Would it be possible to get a new battery to test whether it is the battery that is faulty or whether it is the device itself?

Hey,

Thanks for the question and sorry to hear about the difficulty.

We back our units 100% so if their is any problem like this we can replace the battery. device or both. I recommend contacting technical service directly to see what they suggest. You can send an email directly to our representative Abe. His email is simply abe@ectaco.com

Hope this helps!

A friend of mine who doesn't speak well English bought iTravl 2 years ago and was using it happily until the batteries became weaker an weaker and eventually stopped working - they hold only few minutes!!!
He is asking me to do something and I have his iTravl here at home.
Please, can somebody tell me what are the options - the gadget was rather pricy - about $500.
I tried to see it on my mac through the USB but the mac doesn't mount it or see it at all.
Also, I know he has some stuff on the iTravl he does not want to lose. Therefore a backup should be made before sending it or anything, but how to make a backup if it cannot mount?

Thank you.
Stefan

Hey Stefan,

Thanks for the question! If the battery is the only difficulty they can easily be replaced for $39.95 plus shipping. Unfortunately if the item was purchased 2 years ago it is not under warranty.

Please let me know where you are located and i can give you more info about placing an order for the battery.

Hope this helps!

Hi again,

I have sent several emails to Abe regarding the battery issue, and have not had any responses yet, except for one where he said he had forwarded the inquiry to sales.

To cut a long story short, I have basically identified the problem as being the battery, and have asked if I can get a new one from you to replace the faulty battery that was sent with the device originally. I have since purchased an extra battery which is how I have identified it as being the issue.

Please advise, thanks.

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the question. As i mentioned if your purchase of the iTravl (battery Included) was over a year ago it is not under warranty. We can not replace it with a new battery, one must be purchased as you indicated you did already.

Hope this helps!

Hi Jerry,

I only purchased the device about a month ago, and I had explained the battery problem to Abe.

The original battery supplied with the device is faulty and needs to be replaced, that's all. The device works well with a new (spare) battery that I purchased only last week.

I hope this explains it a bit better, thanks.

Paul
