Feedback improvements JBC

Sorry for my late reply.
I have 13GB on data on my SD card, in 5355 files, divided over 417 folders.
about 500MB on audio books, 12 gig on PDFs (The JBC is mainly a PDF reader for me), half a gig are ePub files, few hundred megs on doc files, and under 50MB on TXT files. I also have plenty of other documents, like HTML, and compressed books...

I tried getting the fastest SD card I could get my hands on, but regardless the device's controller can only handle upto 6MB/s.

Ok it is definitely something having to do with the interaction between the JBC and the micro SD card. I have wrote another message to development to see how this can be optimized.

Thanks again for the feedback, hopefully the new release will be a big jump forward.

if not, perhaps I'll use my 32GB SD Card for something else, and split my library over 2 or 3 SD cards ranging from 2 to 4GB.
Many files (like the audio books) I never use anyway.
I'm sure nearly 50% of the library I have is crap I'll never read anyway, but just downloaded for testing purposes.

Inability to read cbr/cbz files.
Unfortunately, it seems I will never have the opportunity to buy this device.
A colour e-book reader is specially interesting for comic books, once I do not need colours to read text books. Unfortunately, the manufacturers are not interested in creating this possibility. Since the device was released, many users have required that capability, that would be simple to create, but the only suggestion is to convert file by file using Calibre - a ridiculous suggestion coming from manufacturers. Once I am not interested in using tablet either, I have no other options besides keep using black and white e-book readers out there - at least, they work with cbr/cbz files.

Thanks for the message! I have access to our database with every suggestion for the jetBook color and every piece of feedback. We have received a few persons requesting the ability to read the CBR/CBZ files but not as many as you would think and no where near enough for us to develop and implement it.

The costs and man hours to do this are high and the market for it is just not as large as we would like at the moment.

Sorry you feel excluded but we do take everyone feedback 100% seriously and implement it if it is feasible!

Strange, as Onyx's Boox reigns in Japanese market exactly because it is able to read cbr/cbz.
There are lots of great programs for such files running under Windows (HoneyView, for example) and Android (Perfect Viewer), and the developers would not ask for fortunes to adapt them to your platform. Also, the sells would increase sensibly, even because cbr/cbz files are not only for comics, but for images in general, what makes them interesting even to corporations.

I dare say that such an indifference is a pity, as you have an interesting device.

It is not such a big deal to convert the comics from cbz and cbr to pdf with Calibre. That's what I do currently to read comics on the JetBook Colour - but I would still prefer a native support of some sort and agree it shouldn't be difficult to implement. It is simply zipped or rared jpg files.

Its easy for us to say we should be able to get CBZ/CBR files, but we have to look at the other side of the coin. What Jerry is saying is that there just aren't enough people asking for it to make it worth the money they will have to spend. So what we need is to get more people who just sit on the sidelines to ask for them.

There is nothing wrong in making vindications, man. As to the cost, you should notice it is not so high. Besides the mentioned reader is not exactly cheap, I dare say.
