Both: Chinese, Japanese, and Korean language support would be nice.''

JetBook Lite

1. Have ALL formats display with author and title on separate lines and have author/title sort work on SD card (as is now displayed on internal memory included books).

2. Have ALL formats use a linked Table of Contents (if they have one) as is now available on PDF files.

3. Have ALL formats able to use links in the book (footnotes, references, indexes, etc.) if they have one.[b]

- For pdf viewing: scrolling in smalls steps by pressing and holding the arrow keys. This feature was present before, but disappeared in version 16b (same with the 9-grid zoom attached to the OK button).

- Free zoom ratio (definitely!!)

- In order to read most pdf articles, you have to scroll left and right constantly. This cannot be avoided due to the size of the screen. However, it would help if button 0 was assigned to "scroll right" and button 9 to "scroll left". Buttons 0 to 9 are softer to press whereas the arrow keys are too hard (I get thumb-pain after reading a long pdf article ).

- It would be useful to be able to swap between the reflowed document view and the normal (graphic) document

JBL: Have system settings indicate how much of the battery juice has been used and how much room is left (or used) on SD card.

JBL: Have a dictionary that one could hot link to a word in a book (yes, I'm reaching for the moon here.)

Thanks for listening.

Hey,

We have an indicator of how much battery has been used. You are looking for a more specific one?

There is the "find" feature where you can find a word in a book. Would it be like that?

Let me know!

The battery indicator gives me one white bar when the 'juice' begins to--fail? End? Dry up? But that is it. Sometime later (hours later, have never measured to find out how many hours, but several or more) the unit will turn off and I will change the batteries. It will never indicate more than one white bar, whereas my expectation was that the bars would go from one, to two, three and then four would indicate time's up. I did find the battery indicator in the System Settings, but never found it any more than one white bar, either. Your surprise indicates that it might just be my unit; in which case, I am fine with it. Gotta love the quirks!

Hey,

Thanks for the question! On my jetBook i notice the battery indicator works as it should, i never really notices on the jetBook Lite to be honest. In any case i think it would be a good idea, a more accurate depiction of battery life or something of the sort.

Without a doubt, for me, the biggest issue is the quality of the English dictionary. I estimate that approx. 60-70% of the words I look up aren't found, which is very frustrating.

I would hesitate to recommend this unit to a friend for this very reason.

A serif font would also be nice, especially when reading older texts. The modern fonts with the older texts just doesn't seem right.

Hey,

Thanks for the feedback! I have updated the main page.

For the dictionary most of the words i type in come up, i would say over 80%. Is their a certain format you are seeing this difficulty with so i can check into it?

Hi jerry,

Is it possible to add a user defined zoom option rather than just having a predefined zoom, It makes it easier to use to view documents per individual preference.

Thanks
Monk

The battery indicator on my JBL works, but I get the change battery warning at 2 bars. I'm using NiMH rechargeable batteries, so perhaps the JBL is calibrated for alkaline batteries?

Palm used to have a setting you could change to match the batteries you were using. Maybe Ectaco could provide something like that?

Quite a few weeks have gone by since the last post and the suggestions that were put forward. Any feedback on what is being done with these, any that are being seriously considered?

Hey, Thanks for the question! I have forwarded the link with everything to the product manager, making changes is in their hands.

I was having a discussion with one of them previously and the main factor in making changes is the ease of doing so and the audience it will appeal to. In other words some suggestions might actually require all but a complete re-design of the firmware where as others would be a less complicated fix or addition.

We are really trying to match our feedback with our R&D (research and development) team to see if something interesting sticks out. if it does and seems to be in high demand we will make a change and release it on the JB and JBL.

Hopefully the management team is as passionate as i am about actually implementing some of these cha

Hello,

I would like an option to change the battery indicator to a more accurate one. I would like to be able to see the battery charge in numbers. (55%, 100%). Maybe it would be nice to add a battery option under settings and there you could change the battery type for JetBook Lite and choose the charge indicator displayer (bars or percentage ones) for both JetBooks.

There is an option to “delete selected book” in Books section but there is no “delete selected picture” option for Pictures. You have to go to the file manager to delete them.
If you open a picture with the file manager and then you close it, you ended in the pictures section and you have to go to file manager again to be able to delete that picture.

Create a direct access to dictionaries in the JetBook’s main menu to be able to search any word without the need of opening a book.

A clock would be a nice addition too.

One more vote for the color screen and another one for Dicti
