I only purchased the device about a month ago, and I had explained the battery problem to Abe.

The original battery supplied with the device is faulty and needs to be replaced, that's all. The device works well with a new (spare) battery that I purchased only last week.

I hope this explains it a bit better, thanks.

Paul

Hey Paul,

Ok i do understand now. In this case we should be able to replace any battery under the warranty.

If you can please re-establish contact with abe@ectaco.com or call 718-728-3605. Just let him know that you need a battery replacement under warranty and that your purchase was under a year ago. he will give you an RMA number and address for return.

Hope this helps!

The battery life on the Ectaco Itravl is horrible!!
When I called them about a replacement battery they told me the battery was not apart of the warranty,
that I would have to buy a new battery. It holds a charge about 1 1/2 hours then shuts off.
What a ripoff ! I paid $400 for my model and it just collects dust.

Hi,

Thanks for the message and sorry to hear about the difficulty. I have used an iTravl before and my gets about 4 hours of continuous use. Its possible the software on the device is draining the battery faster then normal. Try the following:

1) Remove the battery.
2) Keep it out for at least 15 minutes (master reset).
3) Replace the battery and then immediately plug it in for charging (do not use it between this time).
4) Keep the device plugged in over night or for at least 12 hours.

Does that help?
