I have started to have an intermittent problem with the touch screen on my 900.

Yesterday I selected the English dictionary to look up a word. I then tried to go back to the English/French dictionary, but the screen would not respond to any touch in the top left hand corner. Neither using my finger tip or the supplied probe worker. I tried on both the screen icon and the printed icon in the extream corner and neither worked. I eventually had to use the numeric selection, number 1.

Today it is working OK, but for how long I have no idea. Has anyone else had this problem and if so how was it sorted?

Well, so far the only response that I have had to my question is silence!!!

I have e-mailed the ectaco support team and the only response that I have had is to say that I can get a deal to trade my P900 in for a Partner Lux because my P900 is out of the 1 year warrenty, but after a couple of digs from me to find out what the problem is with my P900 I have had no response for the last 3 days!

My P900 is now almost useless as I can't access the touch screen at all. I have tried to reset it a couple of times so now the click and voice volume is far too loud and I can't change it. I have NO access to the touch screen.

The unit is just over 2 years old. That puts it at around 200$ a year? That is a boat load of the lovely local wine we drink and a very expensive way to translate a language for a retiree!

Come on Ectaco, what are you going to do about my problem? Are you going to ban me or take this thread off of your forum?? This has been a great machine and has impressed a lot of people that have seen it. So why throw your reputation away now by not answering?

OK, it has now been 14 days, fourteen days, since I first posted this problem and the only replies have been from me asking for help!

I appear to be in a special place all on my own?

Is there anyone out there across the Pond who is willing to help me with a small bit of kit that has so far cost me about 200$ a year to own?

I now have a P900 that has NO touch screen facility at all. The volume is stuck at loud since I tried to do a reset because I can't use the touch screen to adjust it.

In the past I have sung the praise of this unit to all of my friends and it has been used a lot. We live here in France full time and it has gone virtually everywhere with me and has been admired by all who have seen it, BUT now all I can do is use less than 25% of the fascility and even after 2 e-mails to your info/tech people the only reply I have had from anyone is one of your guys trying to sell me a Partener Lux ???????

For crying out loud, all I am asking for is for someone to help me to get my P900 working properly again. Surely that is NOT rocket science?

I will probably get banned from here, but for what? Because I asked 4, four, times for help?

I'm here. I've been informed the customer was given help via email and phone. No worries.
