It happened: Adobe DRM support for ECTACO JetBook and jetBook LITE is now out! Advanced apps and add-ons included.
Jul 14, 2010 "Ectaco Inc. has now added Adobe DRM to all jetBooks and jetBook LITES to provide users with virtually unlimited download capacity from the most popular eBookstores and even local public libraries. Long Island City, NY, July 13, 2010 ECTACO Inc., a New York based company best known for their jetBook budget eBook readers, hand-held electronic translators, and translating software has announced that the jetBook and jetBook LITE will now support Adobe DRM protected formats and 4 new languages. The jetBook is most known for being the strongest price competitor to the Kindle and Nook and stays steady as the leader in entry level eReaders. David Lubinitsky, ECTACO’s CEO explains, "We decided to give the jetBook a little upgrade via feedback we received from our dedicated customers saying that although they really liked our product, especially because of its technical features and flexible pricing policy, Adobe DRM support would be a great addition. We hope that now our customers will find getting eBooks on the jetBook to be much easier and the reading itself even more comfortable than before." The new features will drastically enhance ECTACO's performance in the market. Since the majority of online stores sell Adobe DRM protected eBooks, the company is now likely to embrace a new spectrum of consumers who utilize these venues to purchase their virtual novel collections. The new language additions allow an even greater variety of users to read books in their native languages including Arabic, Farsi, Vietnamese and Hebrew. Support for DRM encoded ePub files allow for the purchase of bestseller eBooks from popular online retailers including Barnes & Noble, Kobo, Borders, ebooks.com and many others. Additionally, downloading eBooks from local libraries will now be accessible as a result of the Adobe DRM. The update will be available via free download for owners of the ECTACO jetBook and jetBook LITE on www.jetbook.net. All jetBooks sold after July 22nd will come with the Adobe DRM support integrated.
