New Pocket PC dictionaries with speech synthesis

Ectaco, Inc. is glad to announce the release of its English<->Russian and
English<->Spanish Talking Partner® Dictionaries for Pocket PC.

The Talking Partner® Dictionaries for Pocket PC can pronounce words in English and Spanish, which is the distinguishing feature of these software translators. A specially developed Text-To-Speech (TTS) technology converts text to speech. The synthesizer (Text-to-Speech engine) is based on a new approach to speech synthesis, i.e. on formanta synthesis, which creates a human vocal tract simulation by modelling sounds of a national language.

The new dictionaries not only translate words for you but also help you improve your accent by listening to a clear, life-like pronunciation of each word. All you have to do is select the word and with one click make the speech synthesizer pronounce it for you. The new function makes this dictionary a powerful foreign language learning aid.

The Talking Partner® Bidirectional Dictionaries for Pocket PC deliver instant word translation and reverse translation as a proof of correct understanding. The English<->Spanish dictionary comprises over 400,000 and the English<->Russian dictionary comprises 550,000 words/phrases. Partner® dictionaries provide several translations for all words having more than one meaning.
